VEGETABLE PRODUCTION

 

Africa Land-Use Training offers an AgriSETA accredited course (skills development program) on Vegetable Production (NQF level 1). The course can be presented to groups at one of our venues or at a venue of your choice in your region. Groups between 10 and 30 are accepted. AIM OF THE COURSE

This course aims to train the learner on the basic information needed to plan, prepare, establish and care for a vegetable garden. This course is ideal for people involved in training and development in communal areas.

 

COURSE FORMAT

The course is presented in two formats;

 

Format 1 (growth cycle based format) – Course is presented over one growth cycle with theory and some practical at one venue and further practical at the learner's workplace/farm/house. Modules are spread out through a growth cycle.

 

Format 2 (condensed format) – Course is presented at one venue where theoretical and practical training is presented over two weeks.

 

COURSE CONTENT

This course is based on plant production unit standards developed by AgriSETA and for which Africa Land-Use Training is accredited. Some modules for which no unit standards exist were incorporated to make the training programme more complete. LEARNER ASSESSMENT

Learners will be assessed for competency on the criteria set for above mentioned unit standards. Learners found competent will receive certificates under the jurisdiction of AgriSETA. Assessment is based on the completion of a workbook as well as practical coursework.
