VELD MANAGEMENT

This 5-day accredited course aims to train the learner on the important principles and practices needed to ensure good and sustainable veld management. Modules include an introduction to veld management, the natural resources used during veld management, important ecological processes, and principles and all the practices involved during veld management. All people directly or indirectly involved in veld and land management will benefit from this course.
Learners who complete this course will receive credit-bearing certificates under the jurisdiction of AgriSETA. This course is an NQF level 4 course and the minimum required qualification to enroll in grade 11. The course is based on the SAQA unit standard titled “Implement a natural resource
management plan”.

GRASS IDENTIFICATION

This 3-day course is aimed at people who want to learn how to identify grasses or expand on their current grass species knowledge. During this course, you will learn how to identify new grasses and the ecological importance of each grass. The course includes mainly practical training. Enough repetition is included to assist in consolidating your new knowledge. During practical training sweetveld and sourveld areas are visited. You are allowed to take grass samples for later reference.
The book Guide to grasses of Southern Africa (van Oudtshoorn) is used as a handbook. Certificates of attendance are awarded after completion.
